Scottsdale’s public schools make our City a standout place to live and learn. Here are the ABC’s, starting with A for acronym — theirs is SUSD. B is for the basics. Here’s a table of SUSD K-12 schools from North to South. C is for the Scottsdale Unified School District Calendar.
I’ve made the details easy to find the best schools and choices for your star student! Read on to find everything you need to know, plus more handy tables.
SUSD is billed as ‘Arizona’s most excelling school district!’ Here’s proof:
The district boasts nationally ranked high schools, with a 93% graduation rate, 6 A+ Schools of Excellence, and 89 national board-certified teachers. Excelling students include Flinn, Dorrance, and National Merit Scholars, as well as U.S. military academy appointees.
SUSD’s Learning Communities, School Search Tool and Boundaries
Scottsdale Unified School District is split into Learning Communities. These are based on the 5 area high schools: Desert Mountain, Chaparral, Saguaro, Coronado, and Arcadia. Here’s the SUSD District Map.
Here is a table of SUSD K-12 schools by Learning Community from North to South.
Extra credit: Students in far North Scottsdale might go to Cactus Shadows High School in the Cave Creek School District.
Here’s a table and search tool to locate your student’s Learning Community and neighborhood elementary schools.
Note that SUSD’s district boundaries don’t align exactly with the city’s geographic boundaries. For instance, some of SUSD’s Arcadia Learning District schools are actually located in Phoenix, not Scottsdale.
SUSD’s Stellar Programs
Here’s a table of top-rated programs at SUSD. They include Academic, Athletic and Programs of Pride. Everything from Gifted Pre-K, to Native American, STEM, STEAM, a wide world of sports and much more.
The high schools of SUSD excel in giving all students lots of exciting ways to learn. A big catalog delivers personalized programs of study.
Students are guided to achieve their potential. They prepare for rewarding destinies. Will they seek college or the workforce after high school? Their futures are brighter here!
Career and Technical Education – CTE
A huge choice of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are offered at SUSD’s high schools. Yep, that’s another table. And, with partners East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT).
Merging tech skills and academics is smart. Students earn credits and work-ready certificates. CTE programs prep students with pro and tech skills for success.
A Healthy Safety Net of Support
SUSD serves up many tools to help our young people flourish through its Department of Support Services. They create a positive and safe place of learning. And, they help with healthy social and emotional growth.
A list of community resources to help students and their families in need is here too. And, they also have a monthly newsletter.
Whether it’s innovative learning or traditional schools, Scottsdale public schools deliver a thriving sphere of learning, support and fun. There’s a special bond between teachers, staff, students and families.
Scottsdale’s Public Schools’ legacy of success is proof of their commitment to our future citizens. Talk about a genius move!
