Spring Training, Regular Season and Fall League Baseball!
Scottsdale Baseball has big lineup. First up is Spring Training! The roster includes our hometown Arizona Diamondbacks, along with the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. Games for spring training baseball in Scottsdale are played from the end of February through March. The D-Backs and Rockies play at Salt River Fields Training Facility at Talking Stick. And, the Giants play at Scottsdale Stadium in Old Town.
Local fans and those visiting from colder climes flock to watch teams play ball in our springtime sunshine.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick
Salt River Fields is a first-rate stadium tucked in Central Scottsdale. It’s part of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. In the heart of Talking Stick’s Entertainment District, there’s lots to see and do. In addition to Spring Training, Salt River Fields hosts many events in, like SFR Baseball Academy for youth baseball.
The Cactus League and Spring Training
Spring training baseball in Scottsdale is a subset of the Cactus League. It’s part of the biggest focus of pro baseball fields in the US. Ten facilities host 15 teams. The Cactus League was formed in 1947, and is a major source of revenue for the Phoenix metro area.
Where do the D-Backs Play Ball in Regular Season?
During regular season baseball, the D-backs play their home games at air-conditioned Chase Field. Its retractable roof makes summer games possible for players and fans, in our extreme heat and monsoon weather conditions.

Arizona Fall Ball? Who Knew?
There’s more to Scottsdale baseball then spring training. Arizona Fall League (AFL) baseball features teams like the East Division Scottsdale Scorpions and Salt River Rafters. They play their home games at Scottsdale Stadium and Salt River Fields Training Facility respectively, from mid-October to late November.
